Funding for Community Projects

Sport Works is a social enterprise aiming to improve the health and well-being of Yorkshire communities. They have a great track record of securing external funding to facilitate a range of projects and are now looking to work with Yorkshire schools and organisations who are interested in supporting health-based programmes from the heart of their communities.  If your group or charity would benefit from fully funded activities we would be pleased to hear from you to discuss how we could work together.  We would love to hear from local groups/charities that are already making a real difference in the community and are especially keen to work with groups who support individuals with mental health difficulties, black, ethnic and minority community groups, economically disadvantaged, elderly residents and people with disabilities. Please get in touch now for an informal chat to see how we can work together - contact Managing Director, Simon Leonard on 01274 800 547 or email simon@sportworksltd.co.uk

We have a Virtual Reality Games Night opportunity available for children aged 10-20 years old who would like to buddy up with members of the Forget me not Hospice on Wednesday 8th August 2018. You must be able to make your own way to the hospice in Huddersfield and places are limited. If you are interested please contact Arnie or Lucy on 01274 679843

We also held a fun summer quiz and raffle with some great prizes. Thank you to Bradford Met. Council Neighbourhood Service Funding for sponsoring the food for this event.

No Limits! Music Jam
Children from the Forget me not Hospice and Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre got together last month for a fun, interactive music jam. The session involved playing a multitude of different instruments and composing a short piece of music. If you would like to be involved in volunteering for future activities at the centre then please get in touch with Arnie or Lucy on 01274 679843.

Goodbye and Good Luck Liz!
We would like to wish our colleague Liz, all the best in her new venture as she leaves the Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre after 8 ½ years’ service. Liz was responsible for setting up our very successful Carers’ Café and ran well-attended youth activities and fund-raising events which were enjoyed by many.  We will miss you Liz and hope to see you soon!
