100 Challenge
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated gifts to our 100 Challenge tombola appeal. We have now reached our 100 total and these gifts will be used at tombolas around the local area to raise money for the centre.
As a registered charity, internal fund-raising is crucial to us so we can continue providing activities and resources to our local community. Once again thank you! Please see details of our Hamper Appeal below to see how you can help.

Duck race tickets
Thank you to everyone who bought tickets for the Duck Race, which took place at the Brighouse Charity Gala in June. The Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre will receive 50% of the proceeds from the ticket sales and we will be able to announce the total in the next newsletter. The winning ticket numbers were 000719, 003677 & 004177.
Hamper Appeal

Can you help the Sedbergh Centre by donating tins and packets of food for their Christmas food hamper prizes? We know that Christmas is 5-months away but we are starting preparations early! All donations should have an expiry date of at least the end of January
2015. If you can help please give us a call on 01274 679843.
Cancer fund-raiser
Earlier this year we asked you which cancer charity you would like to fund-raise for with a coffee morning. There were three charities nominated which were Anthony Nolan, Macmillan
Cancer Support and Marie Curie Cancer Care. We are pleased to announce that the winner is Macmillan Cancer Support. The coffee morning will take place on Friday 26th September at the Sedbergh Centre.
On the beach…
Our centre users had some great fun last month as Sedbergh introduced their very own beach. Our carers, parents, toddlers, young people and older clients sipped cocktails (non-alcoholic of course!) and enjoyed ice cream whilst soaking up the sun.

Fire Station Visit
Our Parent & Toddler group had been looking forward to their fire station visit for ages and when they got there they weren’t disappointed! Odsal Fire Station staff really looked after us and enjoyed showing our youngsters the station and fire engine.
Summer read

If you fancy a summer read, then why not try the new book by Sedbergh’s Lucy Carter. This book tells the story of Jet the puppy and a beautiful butterfly called Vanessa.
