You Sparked Something Good!
On
Thursday 21st April Marks & Spencer staff and local community
volunteers came to the Sedbergh Centre to spruce it up. And spruce it up they did!
The back office was re-painted and outside areas were transformed which means
more local people can enjoy our facilities. Thank you to everyone who came
along on the day and worked really hard to make it a success.
Would you like to volunteer?
At the Sedbergh Centre we are
always looking out for local people to get involved with our volunteering
opportunities. We are especially interesed in recruiting helpers for our Youth
Club on a Tuesday from 5.30 – 8.30 pm. We need people who can dedicate time and
energy every week with activities such as sports, games and crafts and
supervise the young clients. If you think you would like to join our team of
volunteers then please call the centre on 01274 679843 and speak to Arnie or
Liz. A DBS check will be required which we can arrange.
***Summer Fayre volunteers
required for Saturday 16th July – please call 01274 679843 if you
can help!***
Evaluating our activities…
During the next couple of weeks we
will be asking you, our clients , to help us with a simple questionaire
exercise.
We are setting up some display
boards in our reception area which will list many of the issues that our local
community may face. There will also be a display board set up listing a number
of activities and resources that could be put in place to help with these
issues.
When you visit the centre we may
ask you to select 3 ‘issues’ that are
important to you and 3 activities or resources that you would be interested in
using.
The results will be used so we can
apply for funding to tackle these issues.
Thank you for your help in advance :-)
