Life at the Sedbergh Community Centre
has been exceptionally busy over the last few months. The refurbishments have been
hard work (but worth it!) and the finishing touches are now being carried out.
The centre now has new windows, new roof and ceilings and new boilers. Our
sessions continue to be well-attended and we have exciting news about a new
community café. We have also carried out some surveys about our parent &
toddler group which you can see below. Don't forget it's pancake day at the centre on the 17th of February when we will be making some tasty treats at the Parent and Toddlers and Youth Club sessions!
Exciting Community Café Project
We are very pleased to announce that we have received funding for our very own community café. Plans are in the early stages but we will soon be providing this delightful resource on a weekly basis for the whole community to enjoy. We are very excited and grateful for this opportunity which will allow us to serve local people even more. Please watch this space for more news about the café and to find out about our new partner who has very generously agreed to fund it.
If you would like some benefits advice or feel you may qualify for help but don’t know where to start – call Colleen our AIG Worker on 01274 679843 to make an appointment. We recently collected feedback from our parent and toddler group clients about what they were enjoying about the sessions and how things may be improved. Our comments were interesting and were as follows:
** We are now fund-raising to buy some Play-Doh – if you have any fund-raising ideas please speak to us as every little helps!
*** We are trying to source funds to buy climbing frames and tumble mats. Again if you have any fund-raising ideas please speak to us.
**** We have now managed to source a new baby walker!
***** We have secured a small budget for sensory equipment
If you have any more ideas for our Parent & Toddler group, please speak to us and we will try to incorporate them if we can.
