Big Lottery Supports Sedbergh
The Big Lottery has recently awarded
the Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre funding to enable centre staff to support
and develop people in the community on a 1-2-1 basis with their Better Chances
project. Thanks to this funding we are now able to spend more time with
individuals to help them plan for a better quality of life and reach their full
potential, whether it is becoming more fullfilled, social, skilled or
financially able. If you would like to improve an area of your life please call
the centre on 01274 679843 and talk to us about how we can help.
Last month our Parent & Toddler group had a visit
from Zoolab! The children enjoyed being able to touch and hold some of the
animals as well as enjoy a story with them. We would like to say a big thank
you to everyone who came along and to the Bradford Council Community Chest funding
which enabled us to do this.
Youth Club Activities
At the Youth Club last month, our young clients
enjoyed playing board games, painting rocks, our bouncy castle and playing
outside. Children aged 6-13 years can attend our youth club every Tuesday from
5.30 – 8.30 pm for only £3. We are also looking for volunteers to help out.
Please contact us on 01274 679843 to enquire.

April Carers’ Cafe
Last month our Carers’ Café had a sun theme and
clients enjoyed sandwiches, strawberries and cream, cream cake and fruit! They
also took part in quizzes, games, flower arranging and discussions including a
Marie Curie visit. This session is a really valuable part of our services and
offers a lot of support and information to current carers or to those who have
cared for someone in the past. Please come along if you think you will benefit;
it’s free! The next café will take place on the 17th May from 10.30
am to 12.30 pm.
